John Pignone was born and raised in the Washington, DC Metropolitan Area. After graduating from high school, he joined the Marine Corps Reserves and was assigned to the 4th Civil Affairs Group in DC. In 2002, John deployed to Kosovo, and in 2004-05, he deployed to Ar Ramadi, Iraq in support of Operation Iraqi Freedom. John deployed again to Iraq one last time from 2006 to 2007 before enrolling at the University of Maryland, College Park.
After graduating and separating from the Marine Corps, John was employed as a civilian contractor until 2012. John was then the Dean of Students, as well as a U.S. Government teacher, at the Commonwealth Academy in Alexandria, VA.
